It was very intense to be there and see the effects of Katrina. Even 6 months later, many people are homeless, living in trailers or abandoned cars, or gone from the city in search of shelter and work. Traffic lights are still out and rubble is everywhere. The roads are full of giant potholes and trenches.
Amid all the rubble, people still managed to find a way to celebrate life and Mardi Gras.
